From Cuba to Florida: How Marez Electric Started
Ariel Hernández Alemán didn’t grow up planning to become an electrician. In Cuba, he studied economics and spent years teaching and coaching chess — a game that rewards exactly one thing: thinking the move through before you make it.
He moved to Florida and started at a local college to learn English. Electrical work was the first job he found. He was good at it, and he stayed.
From there, he climbed the trade the only way Florida law allows — one license at a time, by exam and by hours worked, with nothing skipped: journeyman, then Master, then Unlimited Master.
The chess habit never left. On a job, that means the same thing it meant at the board: figure out what’s actually wrong before touching anything, so the fix holds — and you don’t call about the same problem twice.
